The Joy Project had an inauspicious beginning—and an uneventful ending. The first Joy Project album, titled “Way Out Here,” hit actual store shelves in 2001. Published by Neurodisc Records and distributed by powerhouse Priority Records, it was prominently featured in listening stations at Tower Records stores (remember those?) across the US.

And...it was bought by about 18 people.

The second release, titled “Trip to Style City,” was published and distributed by Bar/None Records in 2004. Surprisingly, several tracks were licensed for high profile television and film projects, including HBO’s “The Sopranos” (episode #66, check it!) and the film “The OH in Ohio” starring Paul Rudd, Danny Devito, and Parker Posey.

And once again...about 18 people bought the CD.

Operating on the “third time’s a charm” principle, a followup album titled “Whatever Happened to Ultramarine” was produced in 2009.

Then it sat on a hard drive for 14 years collecting virtual dust.

And then this happened.

To those diehard 18 fans: Enjoy.
